Hey Commanders,
ZeroSpace Early Access launches on July 20, and we’re excited to kick things off with the First Contact Invitational.
Over the next 20 days, twelve RTS legends will jump into the game, race up the ladder, and compete in a major tournament. It’s a unique chance to watch experienced pros learn the game from scratch and see the competitive side of ZeroSpace in action.
The Players
We’re thrilled to have the following RTS experts taking part:
Many of them will be streaming their progress, so you can follow along as they explore factions, test strategies, learn the intricacies of the game, and compete to climb the ladder.
Because the game is in Early Access and still in development, they’re likely to also find bugs and areas that require balance adjustment. Don’t worry—that’s working as intended and will be a huge help as we continue on our road to 1.0.
How the Event Works
Ladder Phase (July 20 – August 8, 2026)
Participants will race on the ranked ladder over the first 20 days of Early Access. Everyone will be competing on the same ladder, but there will be an additional leaderboard that just ranks these players against each other.
Tournament Phase (August 9, 2026)
The event concludes with a tournament on Sunday, August 9 at 6:00 PM CEST / 9:00 AM PDT. The format consists of:
A 12-player Swiss Round Stage (best-of-2 matches)
Top 4 advancing to a playoff bracket
Best-of-3 Semi-Finals
Best-of-5 Grand Final
Seeding for the tournament will be based on ladder ranking from the previous phase.
Prizes
There’s a combined $13,000 prizepool up for grabs:

Community Clip Contest
If you enjoy creating clips of your favorite games or content creators, you can join in too. During the ladder phase, submit your favorite clips from the creators’ streams to the official ZeroSpace Discord. (Many players enjoy Medal.tv for clipping.) The top 10 clips voted by the community will each be awarded with $100 to both the clip submitter and the featured streamer. Let’s see those clips!

ZeroSpace Galactic War: Season Zero - The Battle for Galactic Supremacy Begins at Launch

The ZeroSpace Early Access launch on July 20 will feature the debut of Galactic War: Season Zero, our first iteration of the Galactic War - a seasonal, persistent multiplayer game mode where warring factions fight for dominance in the Orion Sector.
Galactic War: Season Zero is a two-week, community-driven event ending August 2 in which players align with one of three creator-led alliances to compete for control of the galaxy and crown the first-ever Galactic Emperor.
The Three Alliances
Three RTS Legends will lead competing alliances:
Winter
Neo
uThermal
Upon joining the war, players select an alliance and contribute to that faction’s territorial expansion by capturing planets and taking other actions to earn influence by playing the Co-op Mode.
Fighting in the War
Galactic War: Season Zero runs from July 20 to August 2. Every Co-op match played during this period advances the chosen alliance’s progress. Alliances capture planets and extend their influence across the galactic map based on mission difficulty and completion level.
You can play with a random ally, AI teammate, or party with a friend!
Scoring
Each planet controlled by the Alliance at the end of the event awards points.
Unspent influence remaining in the Alliance pool awards 1 point per 100,000 influence.
5 points are deducted for each Pirate remaining in an Alliance’s systems at the conclusion.
On August 2, the war will conclude. The alliance with the most points will win, and its creator will be crowned Galactic Emperor.
Community Clip Contest
A community clip contest will run throughout the event. Submit your favorite gameplay moments or highlights from the creators’ streams through the official ZeroSpace Discord.
The top 10 clips, selected by community vote, will award $100 to both the featured streamer and the player who submitted the clip.
In-Game Rewards
Players can earn exclusive portraits and titles by reaching milestones throughout the season. Some rewards can be unlocked simply by playing, while others will require skillful victories and strategic use of influence.
The winning alliance will also help shape the global reward granted to all Galactic War participants at the end of the season, as well as the theme of a future Galactic War season.

Thanks everyone for an amazing Steam Next Fest
With your help, we were able to share ZeroSpace with tens of thousands of new players last week, and we were one of the top played demos of Next Fest!
Due to the continued demand, we’ll be keeping the demo open a while longer.
Ranked matchmaking will close tomorrow, with Campaign, Galactic War, and Custom Games staying open until we get closer to our July 20 Early Access release.
So whether you haven’t tried it yet, can’t get enough, or want to show a new friend, now is a great time to play the ZeroSpace Demo!

Development Focus
Next Fest has given us a large influx of players, which has been incredibly valuable for surfacing bugs and identifying areas that need improvement. We’re reading through all your feedback and bug reports, and stability remains our top priority.
We already upgraded our server hardware in the first few days of the festival to improve Galactic War stability. Now we’re focused on squashing bugs, optimizing performance, and updating the in-game UI.
Galactic War Update
The Next Fest Galactic War MiniSeason has been heating up! We’ve got a battle report from yesterday:
Commander FluffsSquad seized four worlds across the galaxy in a single day, more than any other commander has been able to manage.
First place for the week so far though goes to Commander Kodo, who has managed to conquer 12 planets, across 50 victories!
In what bystanders are calling “The Battle of Hyperion Nebula” Commanders Mr.Kill and Firnantok, waged a brutal war for control over the planet, trading control back and forth an incredible eight times and burning nearly 20,000 influence in the effort to tip the scales in their Alliance’s favor.
Make sure to bring your friends to the Galactic War, where together you can capture planets and spread your ideology. You never know, you could be featured in the galactic news.
Don’t forget, it’s not just glory that you’re fighting for, your first win of the day gains you an entry to win one of three custom ZeroSpace PCs!

Think you’ve got what it takes to be among the best? Prove it this week with our completely open ZeroSpace Next Fest Masters tournament!
The top 8 ranked players earn a spot into a playoff bracket. Prizes are split as follows:
1st: $2,000
2nd: $1,000
3rd - 4th: $500
5th - 8th: $250
Qualification is based on Ranked 1v1 Ladder standings at 12PM PDT/ 21:00 CEST on June 20. Playoffs will be on June 21. Playoffs are a single elimination bracket, Best of 3 until the finals, which is BO5. If you win with a faction or mercenary faction, you can’t use either again for the rest of the series.
To qualify for the tournament you must only use one account. Anyone found to be using multiple accounts or otherwise violating the competitive spirit of the competition will be disqualified.

Roadmap
We have an updated roadmap that includes what will be available for Steam Next Fest, Early Access, and what we will continue working towards for 1.0 and beyond.
Early Access will feature 13 campaign missions; reveal of our 4th main faction, the Xol; our 6th mercenary faction the Endari; and much more.
