Hey Commanders,
A quick post to let you know about Sanctuary: Shattered Sun which is another RTS in development at the moment. They have a free demo which you can find on Steam, and a Kickstarer up now that is already funded and going well into their stretch goal list.
Sanctuary was inspired by Supreme Commander and takes place on a Dyson Sphere. It has some epic new RTS features like superweapons that can shatter chunks of the map into the sun, and cryotanks can be destroyed to snap freeze the map!
Answers to the community’s most common questions, along with a few of our thoughts.

1. How stable is the studio in terms of funding, will you be able to reach 1.0?
Now that the dust has settled from the initial Early Access release, we're able to share that our sales have been strong enough to fund development costs through our 1.0 release.
Continued sales throughout Early Access will enable us to invest further into the game; growing the team, producing more content and features, and improving the game at a faster pace.
2. What are the plans for optimization and better performance?
We are always working to improve optimization, from the last demo to now we’ve optimized the game by about 2x on the CPU side, allowing for less thermal throttling and better performance when hosting games.
We know there’s room to go on the GPU side and that’s where we’re directing our focus now. Since releasing, we’ve identified a few particularly resource intensive particles and VFX and fixed them. Your reports here are especially helpful as oftentimes the gains to be found here are related to specific units, abilities, or areas of a map.
Our goal is for a 1080TI to be able to achieve a stable 45 frames per second on any map with any units.
3. Are there plans for updated UI, both in-game (in-match) and out of game (menus/lobbies)?
Yes there are plans for an in-game UI redesign and Icon update, with an emphasis on UX and visual cohesion, as well as on-going improvements to the menu and replay UI.
4. What is the planned update cadence?
We’re aiming for weekly changes with bug fixes and minor balance tweaks for the moment. When it comes to content such as missions, commanders, factions, and heroes, we’re planning to do larger content drops instead of trickling them in, we’re figuring out the exact pacing we want, but as of right now we’re thinking around monthly for large updates. For next month, we’re planning for a new Galactic War season, more units, additional campaign and co-op content, and more. We’ll share more about our long term content plan soon.
5. Will there be a focus on bug fixes and polishing the already released content?
This is a big priority of ours, we understand the loss of immersion and the frustration that can come from bugs. We’ll continue the polishing and bug-fixing all the way to 1.0 and beyond.
In addition to letting us know about the bugs you are running into, please also let us know your hardware as some of them are config dependent.
Shortly before launch we found some issues that only affect certain AMD GPUs. Because of all the possible combinations of hardware, these issues can sometimes be difficult to detect on our own, so sharing your config helps a lot here.
Some closing thoughts from the team
The first day of Early Access, our Steam review score dipped as low as 66% with half of the negative reviews mentioning UI. After quickly releasing updates and fixes addressing some of the most pressing concerns at the time, and, as players who got past that first layer of friction got to experience the core gameplay, reviews began to turn around bringing us to 77% positive (86% over the last week) at the time of this message.
We have some stat tracking on the back end, and we’re continuing to monitor what modes, factions, maps, and more that people are enjoying, and what we should look at spicing up. Something in our stats that we feel good about is that our versus playerbase has remained very stable and our average number of ranked games being played at once has actually climbed over the past 10 days.
What all of this tells us is that people enjoy the core gameplay loop of ZeroSpace, and appreciate the updates we’ve put out, and it’s very motivating for us.
There is still a lot of work ahead of us, and we will continue to adapt and prioritize based on your feedback as we steadily move the game toward the best version it can be. With over 350,000 wishlists, there is still a significant amount of interest in the game that has not yet translated into Early Access purchases. We see a meaningful opportunity to earn more of that support over time as we continue improving the game, addressing concerns, and building confidence through Early Access. We understand that many players will choose to wait until 1.0 before making a purchase, and we respect that. Our main ask to you would be to give us a wishlist so you can continue to see the updates and progress we make, and get notified upon our 1.0 release.
To those of you who have taken the leap during Early Access: thank you for your vote of confidence, your support, and your feedback during this crucial stage of development. It is helping us make the game better as we continue working toward the full release.
Thank you to everyone who read this far, shared feedback, told a friend about ZeroSpace, or even just wishlisted while staying on the sidelines. We’re excited that you’ve let us share what we’ve built over the years, and what we will continue to build.

ZeroSpace has officially launched in Early Access on Steam.
The Orion Sector is open. Jump into the campaign as Prefect Aster, hold the line against endless waves of Grell in Survival, climb the ranked ladder, compete for territory in Galactic War Season Zero, or test new strategies in skirmish. Download the game and begin shaping ZeroSpace on the road to 1.0.
Kickstarter backers: your key has already been delivered to the email address linked to your backer account. Thank you for supporting us!
If you are enjoying the game, the most helpful thing you can do is leave a review on Steam. Positive reviews have the single biggest impact on visibility for us on Steam. Higher visibility brings in more players, and that support is what allows us to keep improving and expanding the game.
What You Can Play Today
Campaign Act 1: 12 missions as Prefect Aster of The Protectorate. Your decisions carry weight across the story.
Galactic War: 10 co-op missions in a persistent, seasonal mode where alliances compete for control of the Orion Sector.
Survival: Team up with a friend and hold out against endless waves of Grell.
Ranked: 1v1 and 2v2 ladder.
Skirmish: 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all against friends or AI.
Four factions are fully playable at launch: The Protectorate, the Grell, the Legion, and the Xol (the new synthetic civilization available for the first time). Six mercenary factions can be mixed in to expand your army options. The Xol are in an earlier stage of development and will join ranked matchmaking once community balance feedback is incorporated.
Supported languages at launch: English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
Roadmap
We will be shipping regular updates throughout Early Access. The image below highlights some of the upcoming changes and features currently planned. Updated roadmaps will continue to be released as development progresses. For the most current information, join our Discord.
Galactic War: Season Zero Is Underway
Season Zero runs from July 20 through August 2.
Players choose one of three alliances led by Winter, Neo, or uThermal. Every co-op match contributes influence for your chosen side, expanding territory across the galactic map. At the end of the season the alliance with the highest score crowns its creator the first Galactic Emperor.
Participants unlock exclusive portraits and titles. The winning alliance also helps determine the global reward for all players and influences the theme of a future season. A community clip contest is open for players who capture standout moments (Medal.tv and similar tools work well) - top submissions featuring the creators can win cash prizes.
ZeroSpace: First Contact Invitational
To celebrate our Early Access launch, twelve legendary RTS veterans are going to compete in the First Contact Invitational for a combined $13,000 prize pool.
From July 20 through August 8, they will race up the ranked ladder. A dedicated invitational leaderboard ranks them against one another, with ladder placement awarding both seeding in a final tournament and cash prizes.
The final tournament will take place Sunday, August 9 at 6:00 PM CEST / 9:00 AM PDT, broadcast live on Wardi’s stream.
Format: 12-player Swiss stage (best-of-2), top four advancing to a playoff bracket with best-of-3 semi-finals and a best-of-5 grand final.
Many of the invitees will stream their ladder games. Join the ladder yourself, follow their streams, and submit your best clips for the community contest.
Thank You
To everyone who backed the project, tested early builds, or followed along through development: Thank you.
ZeroSpace exists because of that support. We are excited to finally share it with you and to keep building it together from here.
See you in the Orion Sector.

One Day to Go - What’s Waiting for You in Early Access, First Look at Xol Gameplay, and More

– Sun, Jul 19, 2026 at 07:12:20 PM
ZeroSpace launches in Early Access on Steam tomorrow, July 20. One day remains until you can step into the Orion Sector, take an early look at Act 1 of the story-driven campaign as Prefect Aster, test every multiplayer mode, and provide critical feedback to help shape the game on the road to 1.0.
What’s Available Tomorrow
When Early Access goes live you will have access to a variety of game modes (still in development) ready to explore:
Act 1 of the campaign - 12 missions in which you take command as Prefect Aster of The Protectorate and make decisions that will influence his role in the Galaxy.
10 Co-op missions in Galactic War - a seasonal, persistent multiplayer game mode where warring factions fight for dominance in the Orion Sector.
Survival mode - Bring a friend and see how long you can last against endless waves of Grell.
Ranked versus (1v1 and 2v2).
Full skirmish mode supporting 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all against friends or AI opponents.
Four main factions are ready for you to experiment with, submit feedback, and master: The Protectorate, the symbiotic Grell, the fanatical Legion, and — available for the first time — the Xol, a mysterious synthetic civilization of self-evolving machines. Expand your army composition by choosing one of our six mercenary factions to complement your main force. The Xol are still early in development and will enter ranked matchmaking after further community balance testing.
At launch, ZeroSpace will support English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
ZeroSpace will launch on Steam at 10AM PT/ 1PM ET for $35.99 USD (including a 10% launch discount from the regular price of $39.99, running through August 3). Pricing will vary based on your region, so make sure to check Steam for an accurate number.
Before Early Access begins, you can see our newest faction in action for the very first time!
Don’t miss this casted 2v2 showmatch featuring Starlance Studios developers Scarlett and CatZ delivering the first public gameplay of the Xol. Get your first taste of the synthetic civilization now while you wait for launch.
Watch Now:
Galactic War: Season Zero
Early Access also marks the debut of Galactic War: Season Zero, running from July 20 through August 2.
You will choose to join one of three alliances led by RTS creators Winter, Neo, or uThermal, and help your side fight for control of the Orion Sector. Every Co-op match you play advances your alliance’s influence, capturing planets and expanding territory across the galactic map. At the end of the season, the alliance with the highest score crowns its creator as the first Galactic Emperor.
Along the way, you can participate and unlock exclusive portraits and titles. The winning alliance will also help decide the global reward given to every participant and the theme of a future Galactic War season. If you like creating video clips of your favorite games (such as with Medal.tv), you can join the community clip contest and win cash prizes for submitting one of the top submissions featuring one of the creators.
Pick your side, rally your teammates, and help write the opening chapter of the ongoing Galactic War.
The final tournament will take place Sunday, August 9 at 6:00 PM CEST / 9:00 AM PDT, broadcast live on Wardis’ stream.
